Today is Maria Theresa, Archduchess of Austria's birthday. She was born on May 13, 1717 and passed away on November 29, 1780, possibly due to heart failure. Maria Theresa ruled from October 20, 1740 until her death in 1780. She was the only female to rule during the 650 year long Hapsburg dynasty. She gave birth to 16 children, including Maria Antonia who later became the famous Marie Antoinette.Interesting fact:
Marie Theresa was actually proclaimed King of Hungary, but was always styled as the Queen of Hungary.
